The Missing Ring

Finishing 6-6 with a four game losing streak isn't exactly what any of us in TideNation thought would be the outcome of 2007. But with several "almosts" in our first season under Coach Saban and a rout of Tennessee in Bryant Denney Stadium, Bama has some bright spots to point to for next year.
Offensively we should be in great shape with several returning starters - and the departure of some that should go. Question marks still surround Senior to be John Parker Wilson at Quarterback. Can Coach Applewhite and Saban make him the star we all want him to be? The receiving corp should be in great shape with some speedy guys returning and new ones hitting the field for the first time.
Defensively we might grow up a bit but will lose some seniors in the secondary that could pose a problem. Our young linebacking corp will benefit from another spring practice session.
If we open with Clemson in the Georgia Dome over Labor Day we'll be tested pretty severely early as the Tigers will bring back some speedy skill position folks.
In 2008 we go on the road for Tennessee and LSU but we get Auburn back home, maybe for a first time win in the new home and home series at Tuscaloosa.
Whatever the new year brings, it's surely to be another exciting year of Crimson Tide football. For now, it's on to Shreveport for the Independence Bowl and a date with Colorado.
